About the Role:

We are presently seeking a Recruiter in Mississauga, Ontario. This is an 8am to 5pm role that requires applicants to screen and interview prospective candidates for all types of positions including, but not limited to: Skilled Trades, Electricians, Mechanics, Carpenters, Construction workers, and etc.  Ideally we are looking for candidates with previous experience working in a staffing agency but we are also willing to train the right candidate with exceptional customer service skills.

In order to be considered for this position you must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills as you will be creating long-term relationships with your clients and candidates. This is a front-line position that requires a great attitude towards assisting others and striving for complete satisfaction.

What you will do in this role:

  • Speak with clients, over the phone or face-to-face, and grasp the role they are looking to advertise
  • Take notes of the details the clients give you about the role
  • Prepare a job description using the information the client gave you
  • Sift through candidates and determine which candidates are qualified for the role
  • Contact candidates and schedule a phone screening
  • Call in prospective candidates for an in-person interview
  • Complete reference checks
  • Build and maintain a long-term relationship with both clients and candidates
  • Attend trade shows and conferences

What our ideal candidate should have:

  • Ideally 1 year of experience as a recruiter in a staffing firm
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • A personable and professional demeanour
  • Expert computer skills – MS Office, Internet, Databases, Outlook
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple workloads
  • Must be flexible and adaptable
  • Active listening skills
  • A smart phone and computer at home
